Ubuntu 〰️
Ubuntu is a new program designed to support the health and well-being of refugees and newcomers in our community. Inspired by the spirit of unity and compassion, Ubuntu provides culturally responsive, community-centered care to help individuals heal, build resilience, and foster meaningful connections.
The program is grounded in the PM+ (Problem Management Plus) model, a proven care approach originally developed and used in Sub-Saharan Africa. Worcester RISE is now applying this model to support refugees in our community—many of whom come from this same region—as they navigate the challenges of displacement and resettlement.
This initiative is made possible through generous funding from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH).
